Geboren in Essex, aufgewachsen an der Küste von Devon und geprägt in den Bars und Clubs von Liverpool, steht Englands einzigartiger John Smith seit zwanzig Jahren an der Spitze der britischen Folk-Gitarrenmusik. Er hat über 100 Millionen Streams auf Spotify erreicht und seine Songs auf der ganzen Welt gespielt. Seine ersten Erfahrungen sammelte er als Support-Act des verstorbenen, großartigen John Martyn und hat seither mit Künstlern wie Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, Sarah Jarosz, Lisa Hannigan, David Gray, The Milk Carton Kids, Rosanne Cash, Jerry Douglas und Richard Hawley zusammengearbeitet. Sein siebtes Album „The Living Kind“, produziert von Joe Henry, ist eine gefühlvolle und intime Erkundung emotionaler, von Americana beeinflusster Klanglandschaften. John wird im Laufe des Jahres 2025 ein neues Album veröffentlichen.
